**Recreation and Leisure Program**
**Instructor**

Full-Time Contract (35 hours/week)
Renewable annually

The Fusion Youth Centre is currently seeking a dynamic and talented Recreation and Leisure
Program Instructor member who is passionate about coaching sports and engaging with youth
in a recreation setting and through engaging and interactive programming.

Joining Fusion’s exceptional team, the Recreation and Leisure Program Instructor member

will create, assess, and implement youth-targeted sport, recreation, and leisure programming

and activities. The incumbent will be expected to work flexible hours (evenings and weekends

Monday to Saturday) and must demonstrate an ability to lead and mentor youth participants.

Specifically, the incumbent will be responsible for:
Creating, implementing and assessing engaging and innovative youth-targeted sport,
recreation, and leisure programming,

Compiling and preparing various daily and ad hoc reports and statistics.

Undertaking recruitment and retention activities related to programming participation.

Supervising, coaching, and mentoring participating youth.

Ensuring the safety and security of all participants; adhering to and enforcing health and
safety policies and procedures and reacting quickly and decisively to all issues that
arise.

Assisting with the facilitation of various other Fusion programs and special events.

**Qualifications**

passion in youth through engaging and relevant programming and special events. The preferred
leisure and equally impressive knowledge on the topic.

A Degree or Diploma in Recreation and Leisure, Social Development, Child and Youth
Worker or other related area of study **OR **an equivalent combination of previous
experience and education.

Previous experience and demonstrated aptitude for working with and leading youth ages
10-18.

Previous experience gained in youth recreation and activity programming.

Previous coaching experience is considered an asset.

Possess or willing to obtain current CPR certification and standard first aid.

**Wage**

$18.67 to $21.84 per hour
