**About Tenant Defence**:
Tenant Defence is a rapidly growing legal practice specializing in residential tenancy disputes across British Columbia. We provide comprehensive legal services, largely around arbitrations with the Residential Tenancy Branch (RTB) between tenants and landlords and judicial reviews (litigation) at the BC Supreme Court. **Key Responsibilities**:
**Legal Support**:
- Assist the CEO in reviewing and summarizing evidence submitted for Residential Tenancy Branch (RTB) hearings and litigation cases.
- Conduct legal research on tenancy laws, regulations, and recent case developments.
**Marketing & Communication**:
- Create and distribute monthly newsletters on tenancy laws and updates to our membership community.
- Write and edit articles for our website, focusing on rights and obligations with BC tenancy law.
- Manage and schedule posts on our social media channels to enhance brand visibility and community engagement.
**Client Relationship Management**:
- Utilize CRM software to manage client information, track case progress.
- Assist with timely communication with clients.
**Administrative Duties**:
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all legal documents and client communications.
- Support the Office Manager with general administrative tasks as needed.
**Required Qualifications**:
**Education**: University-level education preferred.
**Experience**:
- Previous experience in a legal assistant or administrative role, ideally within a start-up environment is preferred.
- Experience with tenancy law or residential tenancy disputes is highly desirable.
- Experience with marketing and/or content creation is an asset.
**Skills**:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams and Excel.
- Familiarity with CRM software for managing client relations preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment.
**What We Offer**:
- A competitive salary of $35,000 CAD - $45,000 per annum.
- Flexible work arrangements with the majority of work done remotely.
- 3 weeks of annual leave.
