**Position Job Title**:Vice President of Operations
**Location**:Corporate Head Office, New Westminster, British Columbia
**Salary**: $140,000 - $180,000/annually + bonus + competitive benefits package

**Reports To**:Chairman & CEO

The Vice President, Operations is responsible for supporting and implementing the vision and strategic direction for the organization. The role is to manage the functions reporting to the position, and provide leadership, support and resources required to achieve corporate objectives.

**GENERAL DESCRIPTION**:
Directs, administers, and coordinates the internal operational activities of the organization in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives established by the Chairman. Leads and directs the Operations function nationally for all school brands.

**WHAT WILL YOU DO?**
- Oversee and provide administrative direction for Campus operations and Campus Support functions
- Develop and implement key success metrics and related team incentive plans for operational efficiency and student satisfaction.
- Participate in the development and preparation of short-term and long-range plans and budgets based upon broad organization goals and objectives. Recommends their adoption to the Executive Chairman.
- Direct the development and installation of procedures and controls, to promote communication and adequate information flow, and thereby solidify management control and direction of the company.
- Develop and establishes operating policies consistent with the Executive Chairman’s broad policies and objectives and ensures their adequate execution. Appraises and evaluates the results of overall operations regularly and systematically, and reports these results to the Executive Chairman.
- Identify best practices and improve internal systems to align with future needs and budget realities.
- Designs and implements effective measurement tools and oversees the collection of data to assess processes and progress towards achieving the organization’s strategic plan.
- Analyze and evaluate competition and our position in the industry.
- Directs internal operations to achieve budgeted results and other financial criteria.
- Oversee the formulation and monitoring of the annual budget process.
- Ensures that all activities and operations are performed in compliance with regulations and laws governing business operations.
- Oversee regulatory reviews and liaises with regulatory authorities.
- Lead risk management and monitor risk exposure of the organization through quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Articulate company’s vision and mission through positive communication skills both verbally and written to staff, faculty, senior management, and the campus community in general.
- Promote culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and commitment to quality.
- Provide strong day-to-day high visibility and an approachable leadership presence.
- Other duties as assigned.

**WHAT MAKES YOU THE RIGHT FIT?**

To be successful in the Vice President of Operations position, individuals must be committed to developing, maintaining and demonstrating the following:
**Education and Experience**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
- Minimum of fifteen years of progressive full-time operations experience in business functions, with at least 8 years of management experience (3 years at a senior leadership level)
- An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Worked or liaised within a regulated environment is a strong asset

**Skills and Abilities**
- A seasoned leader with strong client facing competencies and passionate about people relationships
- Sound financial and budgetary experience
- Excellent experience and fully articulate with operations, marketing, finance, compliance and other business fields
- Proven success in providing leadership, direction, coaching and support
- Ability to motivate and inspire teamwork
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Including presentation, group facilitation and business writing skills
- Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with outside agencies and organizations
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with all individuals with integrity, empathy and sincerity.
- Superior organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
- Proven self-starter and problem solver.
- Must be deadline driven and goal-oriented.
- A positive attitude and customer focused approach.
- Ability to act with tact, good judgment, and discretion.
- Working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to adapt to changing assignments and multiple priorities
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm focus during hectic periods
- Ability to exhibit a professional attitude and image with a commitment to quality service

**Travel Requirement**:

- Ability to travel within Canada as needed (up to 25%)
