Garden Centre Laborer

**Job Summary**
We are seeking a dedicated greenhouse laborer & garden centre retail salesperson to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for planting, maintaining plants for research, wholesale and retail. Additionally will help assist customers in retail setting upon occassion.

This role is full time until December 1. Then will resume late February and March full time again.

**Responsibilities**:

- Plant crops as needed
- Maintain crops as directed
- Assist in cleaning and maintenance of greenhouse, garden centre and office/event space.
- Use mechanical knowledge to operate equipment and machinery an asset
- Employ hand tools for gardening tasks
- Assist in planting, moving & organizing crops as needed
- Assist in greenhouse maintenance
- other growing or greenhouse support tasks as needed.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in annual and perenial greenhouse production preferred but not required
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual labor
- Proficiency in greenhouse work
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Mechanical knowledge for equipment operation - an asset (tractor, hand cart, planting machine)
- Capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

Pay: $16.55-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 45 per week
