**Purpose**
Contributes to the overall success of Equity Capital Markets (ECM) in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

**What You'll Do**:

- Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
- Responsible for administrative procedures related to retail distribution equity new issues (including equity, equity-linked, and structured products)
- Provide day-to-day operational support to the retail wealth management branches to ensure proper settlement for all equity new issue products, including inventory management and contracting
- Retrieve and communicate retail statistics and information as requested to all relevant stakeholders, including ECM, syndicate partners, corporate & investment banking, as required
- Maintain a variety of retail databases and update systems as information becomes available
- Provide administrative support and backup to retail, operations/settlements, structured products, and the ECM department as a whole
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of your respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk
- Contribute to a high-performance and inclusive work environment

**What You'll Bring**:

- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
- Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) is preferred
- Capital markets knowledge and experience is an asset
- Excellent organizational, oral, & written communication skills
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Ability to demonstrate sound and fair judgment
- Superior interpersonal and customer service skills
