**General Summary of the Job**:

- This role is committed to building awareness of Siemens Digital Industries Software in North and South America by earning coverage in trade, business and IT press and social media. Responsibilities and tasks will include distributing content and announcements, engaging with the media, coordinating and managing interviews, serving as a company spokesperson and working across Siemens and our ecosystem to find stories and pursue opportunities to tell these stories to new audiences.

**Essential Functions**:

- Drive media relations activity for Siemens Digital Industries Software across North and South America, in close coordination with zone execution, the local business team and global communications teams
- Work in close collaboration with regional Siemens companies in the USA, Canada, Mexico and Brazil, as well as other affiliates to amplify messaging
- Build relationships with key media targets and influencers to earn editorial coverage
- Develop, edit and distribute press releases, media alerts, blogs and other press materials
- Work with internal partners to identify and develop announcements and stories that highlight our customers and their successes.Â
- Manage external vendors including agencies, translation services and content producers to improve the impact of programs
- Place articles, white papers and customer stories as contributed content on targeted media channels
- Showcase company's capabilities through feature articles, speaking engagements and award entries
- Use advertising investment to increase placement of Siemens content
- Support local spokespersons in use of global messaging; ensure they are prepared for media interviews
- Facilitate interviews between media and Siemens spokespeople
- Follow news coverage of Siemens, sharing successes across the organization and measuring results against key targets
- Build social media content for relevant local channels
- Contribute to management and use of local social media channels

**Skills and Abilities Required**:

- Experience securing coverage with media audiences, preferably with a B2B software focus
- Strong written and verbal communication with English fluency;
- Presentation skills
- A keen understanding of the media landscape and trends
- Ability to think both strategically and creatively
- Ability to assess and prioritize the needs and expectations of partners with limited resources and global programs
- Ability to work with technical specialists to extract the business value of a product or service and communicate it to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to balance the day-to-day reality of working in a fast-paced global organization with strategic long-term goals.
- Ability to interact culturally and deftly with colleagues at all levels in a multinational environment

**Education and Experience Requirement**:

- 5+ year Public Relations, Media Relations or Communications experience
- B2B Software experience strongly preferred
- A proven record with industry trade pressÂ
- Experience working with and understanding one or more of the following industries is a plus: Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM), Electronic Design Automation (EDA)

**Working Conditions/Physical Requirements**:

- May require up to 10% travel. Â
