**All Genders Program Leader - Permanent, Part-Time**

Collingwood Neighbourhood House’s mandate is to promote the well-being of the Collingwood community by providing leadership and working collaboratively with individuals, families, agencies and other groups to develop and support inclusive, innovative, sustainable initiatives and services that respond to the community’s social, educational, economic, health, cultural and recreational needs.

**Job Overview**
The All Genders program creates a safe and inclusive space where gender-diverse youth and their allies can discuss important topics, build friendships, and engage in community, health, and social justice activities. As the All Genders Group Program Leader, you will lead the planning, promotion, implementation and delivery of weekly programming for youth participants. The All Genders Group Program is part of the Peer to Peer
Program. A primary goal of the Peer to Peer Program is to contribute to the health and wellness of youth by providing them with the information and tools needed to help them lead healthy and fulfilling lives. Peer to
Peer aims to engage in this work through a social justice lens, integrating principles of anti-oppression and inclusivity into its program offerings. The All Genders Group Program Leader will be part of Collingwood
Neighbourhood House’s Youth Services Team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Supervise and lead the All Genders Group program to meet the changing needs of youth participants
- Plan All Genders education workshops, activities and outings when appropriate
- Foster youth development through leadership, mentoring, and community engagement
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for participants and volunteers
- Problem solve and communicate issues and challenges as they arise with supervisor
- Support with program outreach and promotion when needed
- Support with the onsite supervision of volunteers and practicum students
- Take part in related professional development opportunities when appropriate
- When needed, work with supervisor on program evaluation and improvement
- Prioritize and plan work tasks and schedule with supervisor to mitigate overload and burnout
- Opportunities for additional hours to support with other tasks, projects and programs as agreed

**Skills & Qualifications**
- Combination of experience and education that would support the work of this position. Preferred education would be in a related field such as education, social work, social sciences, health sciences/promotion and child and youth care. However, appropriate experience will be considered if there is an absence of educational background.
- Experience leading programs for youth
- Demonstrated experience and ability in mentoring youth, developing youth leadership initiatives, and partnering with community-based youth programs
- Demonstrated experience facilitating workshops for youth

- Demonstrated experience and understanding of health promotion, social justice, and anti-oppression principles
- Understanding and awareness of youth issues and needs within the community
- Research, project development, organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Able to adapt to a variety of work environments
- First Aid Certification
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by the job start date

**Job Details**
Salary : $20.25 - 21.80 /hour
Schedule : 5 hours per week, Tuesday Evenings from 4:30pm-8:00pm + 1.5 hrs of admin/prep time
Location : Collingwood Neighbourhood House, 5288 Joyce Street, Vancouver

This position is covered by a Collective Agreement with CUPE Local 1936
