**Project Manager, Construction - Special Project (September 2024 - March 2027)** Status**: Special Project (September 2024 - March 2027)

**Hours**: Monday - Friday, 35 hours/week

**Home Campus**: Fennell (hybrid work arrangements available)

**Rate of Pay**: Payband 10 ($85,528 - $106,911 per year, plus 4% in lieu of vacation)

**Job Summary**

The Project Manager, Construction and Renovations is responsible for the delivery of building construction and renovation projects including mechanical and electrical systems upgrades, from the planning and implementation stages through to project close-out procedures.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- ** **Meeting with stakeholders to gather information and agrees on a plan for project implementation and schedule.
- Developing, tracking, and updating total project budgets, the estimating resource costs, and controlling changes to ensure projects are completed within the approved budget.
- Managing daily communication with stakeholders
- Ensuring the College’s requirements and objectives are incorporated into project design (including AODA standards).
- Co-ordinating construction activities with the wider college community.
- Conducting pre-construction meetings, attending construction meetings, ensuring progress and compliance with the college standards and various regulations through the construction process.
- Co-ordinating the commissioning and occupancy process including the turn-over of as-builts drawings, and record documentation.
- Providing direction to consultants and contractors.

Other duties as assigned.

**What you’ll bring to the role**:

- ** **Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in a related field (Architecture, Engineering, Project management, construction technology) or equivalent experience.
- 5 years or relevant work experience demonstrating in-depth project implementation and management skills
- Solid working knowledge of construction methods, materials and processes, and building systems (e.g. structural systems, HVAC, electrical, utilities servicing general maintenance practices)
- Demonstrated knowledge of contract tendering and award procedures.
- Applied knowledge of legislated requirements such as the Ontario Building Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Construction Lien Act, construction and tender law.
- Knowledge of post-secondary facilities, their design, use, and appropriate appearance standards.
- General knowledge of appropriate institutional building quality standards.
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with a diverse population at all levels.
- Proven ability to read and comprehend architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to sequence, organize and complete complex inter-related tasks.
- Proven ability to interpret and administer financial components related to budgeting project costs.
- Proven ability to appropriately manage problems and challenges that include frequently responding to unplanned project conditions.
- Knowledge of consultant and contractor contracts.
- Computer skills included MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), MS Project, EPMO, Auto-Cad, Revit, electronic file management.
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
- The ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse students, employees, and communities.
