**Position Summary**

The Rehabilitation Assistant is responsible for working in collaboration with the Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist to prepare patients for treatment, treat patients under the delegation of the therapist, document patient treatment programs and progress as requested by the therapist, maintain the department and equipment readiness as per infection control practices/protocols, and other assignments as required within the scope of practice of a Rehabilitation Assistant.

The Rehabilitation Assistant also works with the multidisciplinary team to complete Montessori care.

The ARM Team (Assess & Restore Mobile Team) is currently seeking a Part-Time Rehabilitation Assistant.

**Essential Qualifications**
- Completion of a College accredited Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) 2 year program
- Experience as a rehabilitation assistant in an acute care setting
- Proven organizational skills for delivery of physiotherapy and occupational therapy services as delegated by the regulated therapist
- 3-5 years recent (within 3 years) clinical experience as a PTA
- Demonstrated ability to work safely and demonstrated ethical behaviour
- Proven team player
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Proven problem recognition and problem solving skills; effective conflict resolution skills; and demonstrated understanding of and commitment to RMH's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety and environmental safety
- Current BCLS required
- Proficient with computer programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Meets RMH Attendance management standards
- Must be able to fulfill physical requirement of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis

**Hours of Work**

Currently must be available to work day shift on weekdays and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements, the OPSEU Collective Agreement and funding.
