IOS Agora & Bakery Is a family run business which is a spin off of our current restaurant concept. We wanted to open a bakery to bring the community our families recipes and our culture. Along with pastries, we will also be selling imported products from Greece and other parts of the word. IOS Agora & Bakery is seeking to find an employee for the position of a Cake Decorator/Baker. The Cake Decorator/Baker at IOS Agora & Bakery is part of a dynamic management team that has a foundation of inspirational leadership and passion for excellence. Working along side the Head Pastry Chef's and following their instructions closely and unconditionally so that our business can move forward.
Cake Decorator/Baker Key Roles:
- Be enthusiastic, energetic and demonstrate a genuine positive demeanor throughout the shift while following directions that the Head Chef set forth.
- Deliver superior food service and quality
- Execution of standards as set forth by Head Pastry Chef
- Assistance with training lower level hired staff as per Head Chefs instructions.
- Active participation in location staff meetings
- Reports directly to Head Pastry Chef
- Be Clean and neat at all times.
- Upon finishing a shift making sure their station is left clean.
Competencies:
- Proactive Planning: manage and maintain appropriate inventory levels for food and
operational supplies to execute the menu as approved by Head Pastry Chef.
- Time Management: effectively manages time to achieve business goals while satisfying the team needs.
- Communication: Provides clean, open, and consistent communication with the team.
Actively listens and receives feedback to improve on management of time.
IOS AGORA & BAKERY |JOB DESCRIPTION - Cake Decorator/Baker
- Problem solving: Responsive, calm, creative and flexible to ensure operations continue to run smoothly in the face of the unexpected.
- Consistency: Approachable by both employees and management. Using time management to maintain a satisfactory track record.
- Organization: can effectively move between tasks and prioritize appropriately between execution, operational tasks, and cleanliness.
Cake Decorator/Baker
Detailed Responsibilities:
Daily:
- Presence during service periods while supporting Head Pastry Chefs demands on productivity.
- In house expert on all menu items
- Daily review and reporting of items sold and items needed to Head Pastry Chef.
- Hands on training with staff in all positions
Weekly:
- Operations review meetings with the management team: Head Pastry Chef/Management and Owners.
- Reports weekly waste and product loss with associated action planning to reduce future expenses
- Creates and manages staff adherence to weekly cleaning schedules
IOS AGORA & BAKERY |JOB DESCRIPTION - Cake Decorator/Baker
Quarterly:
- Contributes to performance reviews with semi-annual follow-up with Head Pastry
Chef
- Assists with the development and plans of new recipes as per Head Pastry Chef's requests
Education and Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Cake Decorating/Baking/pastries
- Knowledge and experience in Greek Pastries considered an asset
- Ability to learn new recipes and desire to learn
- Proficient computer skills including but not limited to: inventory software, excel and word
- Food Safety Course and W.H.M.I.S.
- Must be able to carry and lift items weighing 25lbs to 50 lbs, must be able to stoop and bend.
- Must be able to stand and move for extended periods of time to continuously perform essential job functions.
- Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
