This is a hybrid role in downtown Toronto for an experienced Data Governance Lead within our Procurement line of business. To excel in this role, you have advance proficiency working in data governance and have deep knowledge of data strategy, data integrity, data quality, IT standards and metadata management.

Creates and implements an integrated roadmap for all aspects of data governance. Develops, maintains and monitors data governance policies and procedures. Deploys technologies, ensures compliance with standards, and provides updates on policy changes. Ensures that data is secure, private, accurate, available and usable. Provides interpretation of enterprise data governance guidelines. Ensures data strategy and management practices are aligned in support of business objectives. Creates a culture where data is managed as a valuable corporate asset, adheres to the regulations around data compliance, and reduces overall risk.
- Drives data governance by actively promoting improved data governance practices, enforcing policy, and following data governance best practices.
- Harmonizes data in the systems through a collaborative process with members from various business units.
- Establishes, maintains, periodically reviews and recommends changes to data governance policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
- Conducts audits to ensure that policies, procedures and metrics are in place for maintaining/improving the program.
- Aligns the Data Governance policy with the overall goals of the business strategy.
- Drives change in the organization to maximize the value of its data and plans for how the company will make those changes.
- Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.
- Provides specialized consulting, analytical and technical support.
- Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
- Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.
- Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

**Qualifications**:

- Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior experience developing or implementing Data Governance policies.
- Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.
- In depth experience with Data Management Professional Practices impact of practices on policy frameworks
- Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge including but not limited to privacy governance technology enablement, data privacy, enterprise data management, ontology decide and master data management.
- Able to manage ambiguity.

- Benefit to the role: Skilled in working with BI tools such as Tableau and Microstrategy, relational databases and Hadoop-based data mining frameworks.

**Compensation and Benefits**:
$74,800.00 - $138,600.00

Salaried

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
