Data Governance Specialist

In this role, you will
- Develop, implement, and maintain data governance policies, procedures, and standards.
- Design and implement data quality and integrity controls to ensure the accuracy and completeness of data.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to establish data ownership, develop data dictionaries, and document data lineage.
- Develop and implement data classification and security controls to ensure that sensitive data is protected.
- Collaborate with data architects, data analysts, and other IT teams to ensure data standards are consistent with data governance policies.
- Develop and deliver data governance training to staff and provide guidance on data governance best practices.
- Define data-related KPIs, metrics, and reporting to monitor data governance program effectiveness.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to ensure data governance requirements are met.
- Monitor compliance with data governance policies and standards, and ensure that any non-compliance issues are addressed in a timely manner.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends, standards, and technologies related to data governance and data management.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, standards, and best practices.
- Knowledge of data quality and integrity controls, data classification, and security controls.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with data governance software and tools is a plus.
