**Student - Finance**

The Halton Regional Police Service is currently seeking one (1) energetic, collaborative and innovative individuals to join our **Finance** team as a Summer Student from May to August.

**About the Role - How you will Contribute to the Service**:
**What you will be Responsible For**:
**The Finance student will provide support to the Finance department with general administrative tasks and processes. They will** mainly assist with the Pay Duty process by utilizing our Pay Duty software to assist customers in finding staff to work job requests. This role will support various areas of the Finance function including accounts payable and accounts receivable.

**Major Responsibilities**
- Uses the Pay Duty Management System to manage Pay Duty requests. Pre-screens requests for accuracy and compliance to policy and procedure.
- Forwards Pay Duties to District contact for approval.
- Processes contract changes as required.
- Provides first level technical support to officers and customers on use of the Pay Duty Management System.
- Assist with accounts payable and/or accounts receivable
- Other related duties as assigned.

**What you will Bring to the Role**:
**Education, Certifications and Qualifications**:
Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or a college diploma in Business Administration, Finance or related disciplines.

Note: The successful applicant will need to pass a background check to the satisfaction of the Service which will include reference checks with previous employers, verification of educational achievements, and a criminal background screen.

**Hourly Rate**:This is a paid student position ($19.43 per hour) for a four month term (May to August 2024) contract

**Working Hours**: 35 hours per week: Monday - Friday. This position is based out of our Oakville Headquarters facility which is located at the QEW and North Service Road West.
