Saskatoon, Canada Maven Water and Environment Full time

**The Opportunity**

We are looking for three (3) Junior Scientists to add to our Saskatoon team working on Mine Water Treatment. You will assist in the monitoring of water treatment projects focused on passive, semi-passive, and biological water treatment in the mining sector. This includes a blend of hands-on sampling, data entry, and reporting. These projects currently include constructed wetland treatment systems, gravel bed bioreactors, in situ treatment (pit lakes, mine pools), saturated rock fills, and improvements of active biological systems. Most projects are in our testing facilities in Saskatoon but may involve periodic on-site monitoring during the summer (i.e., travel to mine sites to work on projects). You will get to make a difference in the environmental sector by working in an innovative, growing company with a strong reputation. A blend of hands-on and desktop work (graphing, reporting), this position is a unique opportunity to develop and expand your career.

Our values of Always Evolving, Be the Catalyst, and Celebrate Uniqueness are at the core of everything we do at Maven.

Maven operates a one-of-a-kind water treatment pilot facility and laboratory in Saskatoon. This allows us to advance emerging technologies and develop and optimize existing technologies in site-specific ways. This expands to our proprietary on-site mobile pilot-scale units used at mine sites across Canada. As part of our services, we also do traditional desktop consulting, including regulatory assistance and developing technology readiness assessments and maturation plans.

**What you will be doing**

As a blend of hands-on and desktop work, the day-to-day can vary. You can expect some days (or weeks) to be entirely desktop, and others entirely hands-on. Others will be in between.

In all aspects of the role, you will be expected to learn as much and as fast as you can from as many sources as possible to grow your knowledge, skills, and abilities.

- Electronic file management for projects (uploading, naming, etc).
- Social media updates.
- Graphic design for scientific communication (flow diagrams, info graphics).

**Your Experience and Qualifications**
- Polytechnic Diploma or University Degree in a related field (e.g., environmental science, geochemistry, biogeochemistry, biochemistry, water resources, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, etc)
