**About the Position**:
Reporting to the Team Leader, the Fitter will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Fabricating, assembling and fitting structural steel assemblies.
- Rig, hoist and move materials to and from workstation. Performs crane checks daily prior to use to ensure the crane is in working condition, if applicable.
- Lay out reference points and symbols on the structural steel according to the blueprint.
- Assemble and fit metal sections and plates using tack welding, bolting or other methods.
- Operate welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as flux-cored arc welding.
- Set up and operate various equipment such as torches, drills, various clamping tools, squares, disc grinders and other hand held tools.
- Ensure safe work practices are adhered to and appropriate PPE is worn at all times.
- Mentors apprentices and junior fitters by sharing knowledge and safe work practices.

- Hamilton Fabrication Facility.
**Position Requirements**:
- Minimum 3 years of Fitting/Welding structural steel experience.
- Completion of three year apprenticeship program in Metal Fabrication or Welding an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to read a tape measure in both metric and imperial.
- Ability to operate overhead cranes.
- Current or past CWB certification for FCAW, MCAW.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures.
- A team player, who can interrelate and operate effectively with peers and other associates within a collegial, yet demanding, work environment.
- Organization Skills and the ability to be flexible in managing changing priorities.
- Communication skills - both written and oral.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Analytical and problem solving skills.
