**WHO IS REAL?**

Situated in the heart of Regina, the Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL) District is the largest interconnected event complex in Canada and is the centre of sport, business, and entertainment for the community. REAL is a not-for-profit municipal corporation, governed by a Board of Directors, that acts as a steward of all assets on the 100-acre property which is owned by the City of Regina. Our history is long standing and began in 1884 when an enthusiastic group of people organized Regina's first ever agricultural fair.

Since then, we have played host to events large and small and over the years, our main signature events were formed: Queen City Ex, Canadian Western Agribition, Canada's Farm Show, FROST, and Truth and Reconciliation Day. We are the proud home of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Regina Pats, Futbol Club Regina, University of Regina Cougars Hockey, Hockey Regina, and many other recreational sports, concerts, tradeshows, conferences and conventions of all shapes and sizes. As a Mobile Guard (Ground Patrol) you will be responsible for the safety and protection of REAL assets including REAL staff and guests. Ensuring that the campus grounds are monitored and building checks are done regularly. Reporting any disturbances, and to ensure that property is protected against vandalism and damage. Responsible to enforce parking, which includes ticket writing where needed. Responsible to supervise staff when a designated supervisor not on duty. Respond to incidents and manage response to emergency situations, criminal activity, and other major events. Mitigates risk to the campus in an effort to ensure life safety and operational continuity.

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**

1. Performs patrolling of areas and security checks by:

- Securing premises and personnel by patrolling property; equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
- Obtaining help by sounding alarms.
- Preventing losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
- Maintaining environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.
- Maintaining organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
- Ensuring operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Controlling access to buildings and protecting employees, guests and the public

2. Responds to incidents by:

- Responds to incidents, and manages CSSS response to emergency situations, criminal activity, and other major events. Makes immediate and appropriate decisions in order to prevent or minimize personal injury and/or damage to personal and public property.
- Acts as an on-scene Incident Commander for all emergencies, demonstrations, large protests, and events on campus, working in a unified command capacity with local police, fire, and emergency health services agencies. Provides information and recommendations to the Command Centre.
- Notifying Command Centre of all incidents.
- Maintaining detailed reporting on all events and proper incident reporting
- Issuing parking tickets for parking infractions on Campus

3. Providing excellent customer service to guests, employees and the public by offering assistance where needed, finding balance and neutralizing high stress situations.

**WHAT IT TAKES**
- Must be nineteen (19) years of age.
- Grade twelve (12) education is required.
- Must have valid Serve-It-Right (SIRs) certification
- Valid Driver's License must be maintained
- Working knowledge of computers and various programs
- Works well with people from diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrated experience in customer experience would be an asset
- Formal training and/or work experience in the field of security services or crowd control is considered an asset.
- Able to walk/stand for prolonged periods is required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, along with established decision-making skills required.
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others
