Capital Markets Rotational Analyst
Investment Management, Graduate Capital Markets Rotational Program
The Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) is one of the top-performing and fastest-growing pension funds in the world, with over $100 billion in net assets under management globally. HOOPP invests in all major asset classes, including fixed income, public equity, credit, private equity, real estate, and infrastructure. With offices in Toronto and London, we manage a global, multi-asset class investment portfolio.
HOOPP’s Graduate Capital Markets Rotational Program offers new graduates the opportunity to complete three (3) rotations over twenty-four (24) months with the opportunity to be placed in a permanent role after completion. Participants will develop a strong understanding of how each department contributes to the success of our fund and how we deliver on our pension promise.
Upon successfully completing the New Graduate - Rotational Program, participants will have:
- Developed knowledge of the asset class they will be supporting while working with an elite team of world-class investors.-
- Hands-on experience by learning different investment strategies and thought processes needed for investing.-
- Formal training on how to analyze and manage the diligence process on several specific investment opportunities, possibly including related industry analysis.-
- Collaborated with leaders that have diverse experiences in a professional environment.The Opportunity
Over the duration of the program, you will be placed in three different departments within our Global Capital Markets Investment Management Division for a duration of eight months each. The rotation may include the following teams:
- Public Equities-
- Interest Rates-
- Derivatives & Alternative Investments-
- Structured & Private Credit-
- Liquid & Macro Credit-
- Balance Sheet & Liquidity Management What you will do:
- Research and analyze assigned industries, structures, and companies.- Review and evaluate academic and industry research.- Prepare dynamic and user-friendly financial analysis and complex models to support investment decisions.- Build, develop, analyze, and maintain financial models and associated documentation.-
- Prepare and write investment recommendations outlining key elements of the investment thesis along with the relevant merits and risks.- Actively participate in the development, review, and discussion of investment and divestment opportunities.- Contribute to multi-asset and derivative-based trading and research.- Support teams by assisting in due diligence activities aligned with strategic and return objectives, analyzing structuring alternatives, assessing implications, and managing external relationships.- Monitor the financial performance of existing investments including direct assets and funds.- Conduct analy
