**Title**: Director, Health Emergency Management
**Salary**: $122,641 - $144,283 - $165,926 per year (pay range explained below)
**Contract**: Permanent
**Hours**: 37.5 hours per week (core hours 9am-3pm, Monday-Friday)
**Location**: 100 Park Royal S, West Vancouver **or** 540-757 West Hastings St, Vancouver (Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA’s flex work policy). Please note, this role will be relocating to our new office building in North Vancouver on Tsleil-Waututh Nation (TWN) land, south of Mount Seymour Parkway, after October 2024.

**About the role**
The Director, Health Emergency Management role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to FNHA’s mission to support BC First Nations individuals, families and communities to achieve and enjoy the highest level of health and wellness, by providing oversight of environment public health, including FNHA’s approach to climate change. In this role, you will provide strategic consultative expertise and collaborative leadership to the development, implementation and ongoing delivery and management of a province wide response to disasters and public health emergencies. The position works within the FNHA framework for public health response and in strong collaborative partnerships with federal and provincial emergency agencies, FNHA leadership, Regional Executive Directors/regional teams, and First Nations Communities and other stakeholders. Occasional travel will be required in this role (5-10% of the time).

**About you**
To be successful in this role you will have:

- A University Degree with specialization in Public Health, Health Sciences or other relevant health field or an acceptable combination of education, training and professional experience
- Recent, relevant and significant experience in crisis response/emergency management and/or responding to health related emergencies (usually acquired over a period of 7-10 years)
- Recent, relevant and significant experience working within inter-governmental relationships and responsibilities, particularly as relevant to crisis response/emergency planning
- Experience, training or qualifications in health emergency management or emergency management
- Experience in providing advice and recommendations to senior management on health crisis and emergency preparedness and response issues
- Experience working with First Nations communities and/or organizations

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours. Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements. The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level.

As a health and wellness organization, the FNHA has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
