**Residential Support Worker (Overnight Asleep - Sarsfield, Ontario)**

**Two-month contract with a strong possibility of an extension or permanent position.**

**Current Rotation**:
**Week 1**:

- Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday 11pm-9am

**Week 2-** Tuesday, Sunday, Monday 11pm-9am

**Shifts are 10 hour shifts usually from 11:00pm-9:00am (70 hours bi-weekly).**

**$21.64 per hour for asleep hours.**

**$26.20 per hour for awake hours (generally awake from 6am - 9am)**

**Please note that our main office is located in Orleans, Ontario, but we have residences in Navan, Cumberland, Sarsfield, Rockland, and Orleans, Ontario. This particular position is NOT in Orleans. It is in Sarsfield.**

**NOTE: A VALID DRIVER'S LICENCE AND VEHICLE IS REQUIRED.**

ICSS is currently looking for a Residential Support Worker for an Overnight ASLEEP position, primarily responsible to work and support the individuals in our residences, in order that they may have the highest quality of life as possible. This includes ensuring that their daily living needs are met in the highest manner.

**Although this is an asleep position, the Residential Support Worker may be required to provide support throughout the night. The Residential Support Worker will be required to be awake in the morning to assist with the routines according to the location.**

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Understand and promote the rights and responsibilities of the individuals. Empower and treat all individuals with respect and dignity.
- Work independently or within a team to prioritize and complete shift requirements while still meeting the individual’s needs.
- Provide support to individuals by carrying out duties and following their support plans, considering their choices, needs, and actively involving them.
- Perform delegated tasks as directed by professionals, such as administering medications and completing range of motion according to medical professional’s instructions.
- Monitor individuals throughout the night by conducting thorough hourly checks.
- Provide support in areas of personal hygiene while maintaining the individual’s dignity and respect. Ensure individuals are clean at all times.
- Ensure individuals remain safe.
- Prepare all meals following the outlined meal plan.
- Follow individual’s prescribed transfer and lift procedures.
- Ensure completion of administrative work.
- Develop and maintain respectful and positive cooperative working relationships to contribute to the integrated, seamless delivery of services from ICSS, including individuals, staff, families, etc.
- Ensure communication is respectful, objective and unbiased.
- Perform cleaning duties.

**Skills/Knowledge/Experience Required**
- DSW, PSW, or relevant education and experience in the field.
- Cooking and cleaning skills.
- Experience and ability to deal with challenging behavioural & crisis situations.
- Experience in medication administration.
- Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to follow direction and work as a member of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and support new and unacquainted individuals with mínimal information.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Computer skills.

**Conditions of Employment**
- Possess a valid driver’s licence. Access to personal vehicle for work purposes.
- Possess a driver’s abstract with less than four minor convictions and no serious convictions.
- Must provide a clean Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
- Must provide a valid First Aid/CPR Level C certificate.
- Must provide a letter of good health and documentation indicating all up-to-date applicable immunizations.
- Must be reliable and responsible.
