**LOOKING FOR OVERNIGHT AWAKE RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT WORKERS**

**WE DO NOT HAVE STRAIGHT DAYS OF MONDAY TO FRIDAY. Rotations include every second weekend.**

**Our main office is located in Orleans; however, the position is in Navan, ON.**

Innovative Community Support Services (ICSS) is a non-profit charitable organization that is committed to creating and providing families & individuals with innovative, high quality and cost-effective community-based programs and services that promote a strong sense of wellbeing while making a positive contribution to our culturally diversified community.

The residential support worker will provide person-centered support to individuals with a developmental disability, challenging behaviours and/or a dual diagnosis. The support worker will work directly with individuals to help them set goals and offer support to make healthy life choices. The support worker will work closely with the team and individuals to lead, observe, plan, and implement programs and activities that promote learning, development and independence in daily living, social and life skills.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Reflect and interpret the agency’s Mission Statement, Vision Statement and Service Principles in your work with enthusiasm and commitment.
- Understand and promote the rights and responsibilities of the individuals. Empower and treat all individuals with respect and dignity.
- Work independently or within a team to prioritize and complete shift requirements while still meeting the individual’s needs.
- Provide support to individuals by carrying out duties and following their support Administer medications and complete range of motion according to medical professional’s instructions.
- Monitor individuals throughout the night by conducting thorough hourly checks.
- Provide support in areas of personal hygiene.
- Follow through with the individual’s prescribed dietary needs. Prepare all meals following the outlined meal plan.
- Follow individual’s prescribed transfer and lift procedures.
- Participate in professional training opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skill.
- Follow all ICSS guidelines, Policies and Procedures.
- Follow all relevant Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Participate in the orientation and training of new staff, volunteers and students.
- Ensure accuracy, confidentiality and safekeeping of agency records.
- Ensure completion of administrative work.
- Develop and maintain respectful and positive cooperative working relationships to contribute to the integrated, seamless delivery of services from ICSS, including individuals, staff, families, etc.
- Follow agency lines of communication. Remain current and informed of agency and location-specific information.
- Ensure communication is respectful, objective and unbiased.
- Perform general household cleaning duties.
- Ensure locations meet agency standards.
- Adhere to vehicle operating procedures.

**Skills/Knowledge/Experience Required**
- DSW, PSW, or relevant education and experience in the field.
- Experience in individualized plans.
- Cooking and cleaning skills.
- Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to set priorities to manage time within deadlines.
- Ability to follow direction and work as a member of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and support new and unacquainted individuals with mínimal information.
- Knowledge of relevant equipment, procedures and strategies to promote effective safety within the workplace.
- Problem solve and make decisions accordingly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

**Conditions of Employment**
- Provide a valid driver’s licence.
- Provide a three-year driver’s abstract.
- Provide valid vehicle insurance.
- Access to personal vehicle for work purposes.
- Must provide a clean Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
- Must provide a valid First Aid/CPR Level C certificate.
- Must provide a letter of good health and documentation indicating all up-to-date applicable immunizations.
- Must be reliable and responsible.
- Must successfully complete all applicable training.

**Working Conditions and Physical Environment**
