**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Under the direction of the Manager, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) Assistant performs a variety of day-to-day functions, ensuring the data integrity and the processing and reporting of HR data. The incumbent is responsible for the collection and input of data into the HRIS Banner system and ensuring that transactions are accurate and completed in a timely manner.

The HRIS assistant will be responsible for the maintenance of HRIS records including but not limited to, new record generation, employee movements and updates, banner ID requests, contract entry, salary progression, vacation and sick entitlements.

The incumbent is also responsible for overseeing the attendance process which includes but is not limited to, supporting the attendance coordinators, collection, validation, and input of data into the HRIS Banner system, create and distribute the vacation entitlement forms, process and analyze the vacation, sick leave and other time balances and yearly rolls.

The incumbent will coordinate and respond to HR, finance and college department requests for information utilizing the HRIS, to consolidate and analyze information. This may include report generation to provide summaries to prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc reports. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying, troubleshooting and resolving any errors in the data and answering questions.

The incumbent must have experience, and a strong working knowledge of finance and payroll functions, in addition to a sound knowledge of administrative and financial processing systems. The incumbent must be able to work well with others and develop and maintain relationships with other departments (i.e. Finance, Payroll, IT).

**Qualifications**:

- A minimum of a three (3) year diploma or degree in office administration, business administration (human resources, accounting or finance) or a related field of study.
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of Human Resources business practices and experience in a post-secondary environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Experience in a unionized environment, and understanding of collective agreements.
- Strong analytical ability and a demonstrated ability to exercise good judgement and discretion, maintaining confidentiality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ellucian Banner, and Cognos experience is an asset.
