Production Scheduler

Established in 1999, Empack Spraytech Inc. is a leading aerosol manufacturer, liquid filler, and custom contract packager. Located in Brampton, Empack manufactures products for a wide range of markets including personal care, household goods, automotive, computer care, industrial and outdoors. We offer private label programs and produce a range of products under our house brands that include emzone, zytec Germ Buster, and SunZone.
**Job Summary**:
The Production Scheduler is responsible for using production planning best practices to optimize the production schedule. The Scheduler will create, analyze, and maintain production updates using the ERP system. The Scheduler will be key in analyzing forecasts and accommodating client needs.
**What you will do**:
- Ensures that the master production schedule is created, maintained, and distributed to optimize production to meet delivery schedules and forecasted customer demand.
- Provide strategic input to maintain capacity vs load forecast and priority dispatch of orders.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance local production statistics and measurements and provide detailed reporting and analysis as required by leadership
- Review and validate guidelines in scheduling system. Have an intimate knowledge of the sequence of production, set-up times (fixed & variable), and delay-after times.
- Collaborates with multiple teams including production, procurement, quality, compounding, sales, and account representatives to communicate optimized schedules and update schedules based on information and feedback obtained.
- Add and maintain preventative maintenance windows, machine capacity changes, and labour constraints.
- Continuously monitor production output hourly/daily to ensure integrity of the production schedule identifying any potential risks to delivery and developing/implementing remedial actions to mitigate impacts.
- Actively participates in daily production meetings to provide schedule updates, issues, or concerns.
- Engage with Sales & account representatives to establish schedules for incoming work and ensure timely communication on status of schedules.
- Initiative-taking approach to solving scheduling challenges
- Train back-up Schedulers as requested.
**What you will need to be successful**:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business-related field
- Experience creating detailed schedules and planning modules in a manufacturing environment.
- Two plus years of manufacturing experience in Planning, Scheduling, Supply Chain, Logistics / Warehouse, or another similar role.
- Ability to build and support strong internal relationships with Cross functional departments.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- ERP system experience particularly with manufacturing, warehouse, and distribution systems.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Proven skill set in Excel is necessary.
- Exceptional analytical, attention to detail and organizational skills
- Able to perform in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Proven analytical mindset coupled with a strong business focus directed toward a commitment to optimization and efficiency.
- A self-starter with outstanding organizational and management skills and ability to work independently while managing and prioritizing multiple tasks in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrates a commitment to the mission and motivation of a team and understands the dynamics of effective teamwork to attain higher levels of performance.
- Demonstrates the willingness to accept responsibility and accountability.
**Additional Nice To haves**:
- APICS certification - considered an asset.
- CPIM - Certified Planning and Inventory Management - considered an asset.
- MS Dynamics 365 ERP experience.
