Lynwood Charlton Centre (LCC) is a publicly funded charitable organization in the City of Hamilton which provides a spectrum of innovative and evidence-based, mental health services, including residential, day treatment, community-based services including in-home and school-based services, to children, youth, families and the community.
The Centre is funded and licensed by the Ministry for Children and Youth Services and accredited by the Canadian Centre for Accreditation. We are currently looking for **Relief Residential Child and Youth Care Practitioners** **for our Flamborough ** Intensive out of home Programs to join our team.
**Role Overview**
Working under the direction of the Manager of the Flamborough Program the Residential Child and Youth Care Practitioner is responsible for the provision of day-to-day care and utilizing best practice and following evidence informed treatment plans with children/youth in a residential environment. The Residential Child and Youth Care Practitioner will develop effective relationships with the Child/youth, caregivers/guardians and service providers in the community.

- Providing individual counselling to children/youth
- Adhere to all expectations as outlined in the Ministry of Children and Youth services (MCYS) children residence licensing requirements and agency policy and procedure
- When necessary, contact with caregivers/guardians to share pertinent information and treatment updates
- Support and provide advocacy for the child/youth and family
**Experience/Skills Required**
- Diploma in CYC completed or in progress with commitment for completion, and/or educational equivalent from recognized community college or a BA in a related field
- Experience working with children and youth in a treatment and/or residential setting
- Knowledge of Child and Youth Mental health
- First aid Certification
- SMG Crisis Intervention Training
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check required.
- Up-to-date immunizations and full medical clearance required.
**Job Type**: Casual
