**Event Planner**

At Dark Horse Estate Winery, we’re in the business of trailblazing. We established the first estate winery on the shores of Lake Huron in Huron County, a brand-new wine region. Continually evolving, we’re the dark horse in this race and we are looking for someone passionate about delighting our guests from around the world with an elevated winery experience at every touchpoint.

Assist in building out a hospitality dream team as we prepare for a busy season of weddings, winery events and preparations for an in-house restaurant coming this fall.

Job Summary:

- Managing sales leads, creating proposals and contracts
- Working with clients on pre-event planning (on site / virtual showings, menu, bar, décor, etc)
- Planning and coordinating event services including staffing and event services vendors (rentals, etc)
- Create custom floor plans for larger events including corporate conference, reception, food station and wedding & socials events
- Developing budgets and managing event costs
- Managing follow-up with clients after events
- On-premise coordinator for weddings and special events
- Manages staff service activities, resources and scheduling
- Supervises and mentors the team; conduct recruitment, training, task allocation, and performance evaluation
- Responsible for enforcing “house rules” to vendors and clients alike
- Coordinates setup and takedown of events
- Ensure venue cleanliness and presentation at all times
- Coordinates inventory as required
- Ensuring event operations run smoothly
- Ability to think critically and troubleshoot problems that may arise
- Contributes to team environment and ensures all experiences are of the highest caliber
- Maintains and promotes updated knowledge of company policies and procedures
- Collaborates with management and coordinates food and beverage service for special events
- Tradeshow and off site events
- Other duties as required

- Comfortable with multitasking in a fast-paced environment
- Passionate about providing a top-notch guest experience
- Ability to manage staff team and delegate tasks
- Maintain professional manner and prioritize effective communication
- Must be smart serve certified
- Technical competency required, including familiarity with Microsoft office
- Must be comfortable working flexible hours
- Experience is an asset

Wage will be based on experience

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Minimum 2 years event and planning sales and coordination experience
- Proven track record of working in a team environment with both collaborative and independent work ethic.
- Knowledge of staffing ratios, event catering, menu planning
- Ability to work flexible hours, evening and weekends
- 2-3 days / week to start
- Full time hours / summer

**Salary**: $38,000.00-$44,000.00 per year
