**About Bench Brewing**:
Located in the heart of Niagara’s wine country, the Bench brewery is located on the site of the historic Maple Grove Public School in Beamsville, Ontario. Our brewery is a place for our guests to relax, learn, and experience the craft of brewing beer.

The Bench Brewing campus sits across eight beautiful acres of farmland and features a 50hL brewing system, a tap and tasting room, a beer garden, a ‘funk house’ for our wild ale and barrel fermentation program, and our very own hops field.

Our property houses a beautiful catholic church built in 1938 that has been converted to the Fieldstone at Bench facility. It has an indoor seating capacity of approximately 70 guests and during the warmer seasons the events lawn can seat up to 225 guests.

Bench is a certified B Corporation and strives to be a leader in sustainability, having achieved a zero-wastewater footprint and Carbon Neutral certification by Radicle Climate Smart.

**The Role**:
**Responsibilities**:

- BREWING OPERATIONS_
- Perform CIPs: FVs, BBTs, brinks, hoses, etc.
- Carbonating, capping, chilling, rousing & recirculating tanks
- Yeast harvesting
- Milling grain
- PACKAGING OPERATIONS_
- Checking dissolved oxygen, CO2
- Keg cleaning & filling
- Assist with can line & bottle line operations
- QUALITY CONTROL_
- Take measurements and conduct standardized tests on beer/wort to ensure compliance with Bench quality standards
- Ensure complete and accurate analytical data is captured for all required testing
- Inform team members when product fails to meet the required specifications
- LOGISTICS_
- Order picking at warehouse location
- Sorting return beer
- Supporting inventory counts
- WASTE MANAGEMENT & CLEANING_
- Sidestreaming all hops, yeast, trub, wort, spent beer into totes for alternative disposal methods
- not to be put down drains
- Ensuring brewery is cleaned & maintained to consumer facing standards
- SAFETY_
- Responsible for following WHMIS safety protocol
- Be aware and vigilant at all times when using machinery, equipment, and/or chemicals that could harm yourself or others.
- GENERAL OPERATIONS_
- Maintain malt, hop and yeast ingredients in best conditions.
- Maintain all equipment to best conditions

**Qualifications**:

- Postsecondary education in a related technical field (Brewing, Science, Engineering) preferred
- Demonstrated passion for and interest in beer and brewing
- Experience in a Commercial and Craft Production Brewery is considered an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Team player and quality minded

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 44 per week
