Desai Maruszki LLP is looking for a junior Personal Injury Lawyer with 2+ years experience to join our growing team

Role Responsibilities include:

- Independent management and collaboration on a high volume of personal injury files from beginning to conclusion;
- Conducting thorough file reviews to accurately manage and assess claims;
- Draft pleadings such as Motion records, Statements of Claims, Mediation memorandums and Pre-trial memorandums;
- Independently prepare and conduct client meetings, examinations for discovery, case conferences, motions and pre-trial conferences, trials and hearings;
- Prepare and develop strategy for the resolution of complex claims in a timely manner;
Experience and Education:

- Law Degree from an accredited law school (LLB or Juris Doctor);
- Licensed by the Law Society of Ontario to practice law as a lawyer in Ontario;
- 2+ years of post-call experience working in personal litigation, ideally with trial experience;
- Intermediate knowledge of the _Rules of Civil Procedure_ and _SABS;_
- High degree of personal ethics, integrity and responsibility with an ability to deal with sensitive issues and safeguard confidential information;
- Assertiveness in practice, but reasonable and forthright;
- Interest in court advocacy, especially trial work;
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, combined with research experience;
- Excellent negotiation skills;
- Sound judgment, with the ability to critically analyze situations, problem-solve, and deal with ambiguity and have the ability to provide meaningful advice and recommendations;
- Ability to perform under pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple, yet sometimes conflicting priorities; and
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $100,000.00 per year
