**Overview of the Role**

The Head of Maintenance and Reliability Engineering is responsible for optimizing the preventative maintenance strategy as well as overseeing the maintenance planning and execution. The incumbent will manage a group of supervisors and technicians and is responsible for their growth and development. They will lead and manage the operational efficiencies through the analysis of productivity metrics and reliability data. The role is a primary technical reference for site projects and will liaise with cross functional teams to ensure successful engineering projects.

- Manage strategic development of maintenance objectives and KPIs.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of Engineering projects.Develop and manage a group of supervisors

Utilize continuous improvement strategies and remain well-informed of current and future technological developments.
Provide leadership and coaching to a diverse team of trades.
Develop sound relationships across the organization and with vendors.
Ensure that an annual maintenance budget and plan are developed and followed and that cost targets are within budget.
Provide expert advice and guidance regarding the repair and maintenance of all machines and equipment
Manage the processes and secure the resources to ensure availability of the appropriate tools
Maintain a high standard of sanitation, housekeeping and cleanliness.

**You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications**:

- Engineer, Certified tradesperson, or related education.
- 5+ years of experience in a maintenance management role, within a unionized industrial maintenance environment preferred.
- Proven leadership skills coupled with ability to effectively manage people in a team environment.
- A strong commitment to safety.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs, PLCs, parts inventory, cost control, sourcing parts, managing budgets.
- Experience in the Food industry is an asset.
- A broad understanding of computer-aided processing equipment an asset.
- Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, analytical sand problem solving skills.
- Flexibility in availability to support operations when needed
