**Summer Shop and Event Intern - Job Description**

**Title**:Summer Internship (Paid) - May to August

Playbook is a one-stop-shop for strategic brand programming, event ideation, planning and execution, and PR and influencer marketing.

**Overview**

We’re seeking a Summer Intern who is passionate and knowledgeable about construction and experiential brand marketing. This is an amazing opportunity for someone who works well in a fast-paced environment, loves to get their hands dirty, and who possesses the energy and desire to learn and absorb, to bring big ideas to life, and work with fun, smart people who give it their all.

This position will work in tandem with the Playbook shop team to ensure seamless completion of projects, the on-site execution of events through assisting with assembly and dismantling of promotional displays, organization of logistics, etc. They will gain hands-on experience of creating one of a kind displays and booths, further develop their skills behind the tools, executing successful events, and be able to juggle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

**Responsibilities**
- Support with the building of marketing assets, production and execution of events, from large events to small user groups.
- Assist in the definition and creation of event goals, while keeping customer needs in mind, to ensure event success.
- Demonstrate an understanding and a passion for our clients’ industry, business, consumer and brands (many times by taking initiative to independently investigate and stay on top of this information, as well as share it with other members of the team)
- Actively contribute in brainstorming and ideation sessions
- Assist the Playbook Team with responsibilities including, but are not limited to: pre-event consultation and site visits, shop organization, loading and unloading event materials, tool and material sourcing, observing and learning new design and build techniques, comfortable driving large trucks, etc; on-site duties include ensuring proper set-up and signage displayed, AV testing, supplier management, time management, etc.

**Basic Qualifications**
- Currently enrolled or a recent graduate of a trade school or post secondary school
- Experience working in a shop or trade is an asset.
- Access to a car, willingness to drive/travel and ability to work independently and autonomously.
- Superior oral and written communication skills with an innate attention to detail.
- Willingness to work outside of general office hours when required.
- Must be 19 years of age or older
- Comfortable driving large vehicles

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Some experience working in a woodshop, metalshop, or in the trades is considered an asset.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities to execute high quality deliverables.
- Computer proficiency in MS Office programs including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint,

as well as Google Software including Docs, Sheets and Slides considered an asset. - Computer skills with design software including Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and 3D design programs considered an asset.
- Experience working in a fast-paced and highly cross-functional organization.

Contract length: 4 months

**Salary**: $3,400.00 per month

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
