**About the Position**:
The Plant Manager leads and oversees all plant operations including maintenance and administrative activities and is responsible for ensuring the plant provides the required fabricated steel with the required detailing and painting, as specified within the multiple project plans, and that the steel is delivered on time, on budget and to the level of quality required. They also ensure compliance with applicable Health & Safety and Quality control programs, managing costs at the Plant level, training and developing employees, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Main duties include but not limited to:

- Participates in the kick -off meetings for complex projects where specifications of the planned build, schedules, budgets, deadlines are discussed and challenges addressed; as needed and required. Reviews project documents for inconsistencies or improvements as they relate to the production of the required materials for the build using the Production Readiness Checklist to guide communications.
- Leads the Plant Team Leaders and other appropriate staff in a prefabrication/production session and reviews the project plans (project specs, schedule, budgets and timelines) discussing the fabricating, detailing and manpower requirements and identification of potential challenges i.e. material requirements; skill of available staff, conflicting deadlines. Improves the plant staff’s understanding of design intent.
- Collaborates with procurement and production teams to ensure timely orders and adherence to schedule
- Determines workforce requirements for each project in order to ensure the appropriate level of skill and manpower required for the job. Organizes and deploys staff according to project requirements, as required.
- Works closely with Quality Assurance team to ensure adherence to all the standards such that products are 100% checked to drawing specs before they are sent to the Princeton Paint Shop or shipped to Field Services/Job site/Construction.
- Resolves production problems highlighted by the Team Leaders regarding design changes, challenges or situations that require retrofits so that products can be delivered on time.
- Consults with engineering and detailers in situations that require additional measurements to ensure materials fit together properly in the field.
- Identifies and resolves plant problems throughout the various phases of fabrication, detailing,, loading and shipping, in support of on-time/on budget delivery of quality material to Princeton/Field Services.
- Troubleshoots and monitors production to determine if the required materials, supplies, people capacity to perform the scheduled work is available, or decide if work needs to be outsourced; or shift production priorities in response to changing project priorities - always balancing multiple project demands to quality and on time delivery standards.
- Leads, promotes and enforces safe work practices in the Plant e.g. housekeeping, documenting and submission of incident reports; attends bi-weekly toolbox sessions; participates in quarterly Health & Safety Committee meetings and ensures corrective actions are implemented when identified by the JH&S Committees. Maintains a positive culture with regard to Health and Safety.
