**Job Description/Summary**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children in your care.
- Communicate with parents on a daily/weekly basis.
- Assist in leading staff meetings
- Supervise staff throughout program operations and provide guidance.
- Oversee all After School Care program operations
- Pick-up children from school (in the case of a staff absence)
- Oversee the morning operations of the drop-in centre and perform administrative duties. - Maintain a clean, organized and child-friendly facility
- Act as a positive role model for children, demonstrating kindness, patience, and respect in all interactions.
- Log daily child absences prior to program staff arrival
- Ensure all aspects of the program adhere to the principles of healthy child development. and promote physical, social, and cognitive development.

**Skills**:

- Experience in early childhood education or related field
- Strong knowledge of child development principles
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead a team and remain calm, patient, and organized in a fast-paced environment

**Requirements/Qualifications**:

- HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD) certificate (must be willing to obtain prior to placement)
- Standard First Aid & CPR-C
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) check
- High school diploma or equivalent
- must provide 2 reference checks
- Previous professional experience in child-focused roles.

**About Jump for Joy**

Jump for Joy Play Centre is a female owned business servicing families in the east end community of Toronto for over five years. We offer various recreation programs for children ages four to nine including after school care, PA Day camps, and winter/summer camps. Our organization is committed to supporting the HIGH FIVE® principles of healthy child development to ensure the delivery of quality children’s recreation programs.

We currently operate out of two locations on Danforth Ave. Our Coxwell location offers Drop-In play 5 days a week, birthday parties on the weekends, and after school care for two local schools. Our Woodbine location is exclusive in offering after school care, camps, and children’s recreational programs.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 39 per week

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Standard First Aid and CPR-C (preferred)
