**Reports to: Managers, Visitor Experience**

**Position Description**:
Under the direction of the Managers, Visitor Experience, you will provide a range of services and educational programs at Science World. Responsibilities include daily customer service, admissions and membership sales, activity facilitation, presentations, gallery interactions, outdoor park facilitation, supporting our Summer Camp programing, and the implementation of safety and security procedures. You will model a positive, solution-focused approach in your daily work and work as an engaged and collaborative team player across all functional departments.

As a facility, Science World is generally open to the public seven days a week, with some extended evening hours in the summer months. Typical office hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm, with front-facing and operational teams also working a variety of shifts including weekends, holidays, and evenings. Hours of work and other related requirements will be scheduled according to business needs and this may include special events on evenings, weekends, and holidays.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide our customers with friendly, responsive service
- Positively influence attitudes towards science and technology through science shows, demonstrations, and exhibit interpretation
- Provide our customers with a fun, awesome, wow, memorable, "out of home" experience
- Ensure a safe, clean, secure environment for our customers
- Accurate and efficient processing of all cash transactions and end of day reconciliation
- Ensure that galleries are well maintained and operational and provide feedback on customer interaction
- Assist in the smooth operation of all ancillary services and perform other related duties as required to fulfill any changing business needs of this role

**Qualifications**:

- Successful completion of the Science World High School Work Experience program from February 4, 2023 onwards, or current member of Science World’s Future Science Leaders
- Must be an engaged, responsive and respectful team player capable of working in a dynamic team environment
- Experienced in meeting and exceeding customer needs and expectations in the service industry
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, computers and teleconferencing software (i.e., Microsoft Teams, and Zoom)
- Must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions
- Ability to communicate in other languages is considered an asset
- Must be at least 16 years old by February 20th, 2024
- Must be able to work consistent 90 hours per month (3 shifts per week), from June 29th to September 2nd, 2024. Must also be available on holidays and evenings. Weekend availability only required until the end of school year
- Mandatory training dates scheduled for February 24, February 25, March 2, and March 3.
- Must be able to lift at least 12 kg

After successfully completing probation, will be eligible to join the Voluntary RRSP/TFSA Plan and receive paid time off (sick, wellness days).

This is a unionized position represented by CUPE 1004.

The pay for this position is $16.75/hour.
