Production Worker: Woodshop

**PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To manufacture and construct wood products pertaining to the oil and gas sector.**

**OVERVIEW PROFILE**:
This is a non-supervisory support position responsible for the production of pipe bunks and other materials to fill orders received from customers.
- Operate powered and non-powered equipment (saws, chains saws, other tools) to produce pipe bunks and other wooden materials.
- Operate a forklift as needed (certification required)
- Customer Service
- Facility and yard housekeeping
- May travel off-site to perform work-related duties
- Assists with other Centra Cam Social Enterprise departments as required

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Produce pipe bunks to fill customer orders
- Produce other saleable wood products such as wedge blocks, etc.
- Produce custom-built carpentry products such as picnic tables, planter boxes, benches, etc. when orders are received
- Be aware of delivery dates and process orders to ensure optimal efficiency and that delivery commitments are met
- Notify the Woodshop Coordinator promptly of any production issues or inability to complete an order on time
- Ensure the product produced is of the proper specifications as detailed on the work order and of good quality
- Complete production notes on work orders, complete material tracking sheets
- Operate forklift to move lumber, unload materials, load finished products
- Pick up supplies, deliver orders to customers when required
- Provide excellent customer service that is timely and courteous
- May be temporarily re-assigned to other CCSEL locations as needed
- May be required to work outdoors; may require work in inclement weather
- May be required to travel/work offsite
- Other duties as assigned by the Woodshop Coordinator or Social Enterprise Manager

**SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Knowledge of wood working/carpentry is a definite asset.
- Forklift Certification or the ability to obtain certification.
- Able to drive a 1-ton or smaller-sized truck
- Have and maintain a valid First Aid or CPR certificate
- Able to work in physically challenging situations and environment
- Able to understand and follow directions
- Able to adapt to a variety of assigned duties and work effectively with different groups of individuals
- Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team oriented work environment

**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**:

- Valid driver’s license, Acceptable Driver’s abstract.
- Acceptable Police Information Check
- Steel toed boots are required.
- CCSEL provides appropriate PPE (ear protection, goggles, vests, etc.)
- Please be aware this job requires the ability to work in a physically challenging situation and environment; activities include lifting heavy and manipulating awkward materials, pushing/pulling, handling/gripping, reaching, standing, walking, climbing bending, stooping, crouching/kneeling and twisting/turning. Normal Vision Required. Environments can be dusty and are governed by noise regulations. Working alone safe practices must be followed.

**Wages are dependent on qualifications, formal education & experience.**

**Salary**: $20.00-$28.00 per hour
