Maple Ridge, Canada Firstline Communications Ltd. Full time

Firstline Communications Ltd. (a telecommunications company) is hiring employees in Maple Ridge and surrounding areas. We are looking for fast learners who can think ahead, troubleshoot, and meet the physical demands of the job.
Duties vary depending on the type and location of work, but involve:

- locating existing telecommunication lines and placing new fibre optic lines in residential neighbourhoods
- locating utilities and pre-screening houses to determine existing services
- backfilling worksites after a hydro vac has finished work
- driving a work truck and loading and unloading equipment
- ensuring customers’ yards are left clean and tidy
- maintaining safe and functional worksites

Successful applicants will:

- have a valid driver’s licence (a driver’s abstract is required)
- have reliable transportation to and from work sites (sites change daily, but will be located in the Maple Ridge area)
- be physically able to work an 8-hour day in all weather conditions
- take direction and be able to work independently
- operate company equipment and vehicles in a safe manner
- be open to change and able to adapt to different conditions or unexpected obstacles
- have the ability to work well under limited supervision and to manage a physically demanding workload
- be proficient in operating hand and power tools

**Salary**: $26.00-$30.00 per hour

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Maple Ridge, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
