**SCOPE**
Reporting to the Associate Registrar Systems, Processes and Analytics, the incumbent manages the Government Reporting Unit and provides the university community with leadership and direction related to the Government reporting regulations including their consequences for university funding. The incumbent provides statistical support to university and external bodies.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Manage government reporting, the Gestion des données sur l'effectif universitaire (GDEU), and permanent code creation in accordance with Government regulations.
- Manage the Québec inter-university registration process for Concordia University.
- Hire, train, schedule, assign work, monitor, evaluate, and motivate unit personnel.
- Provide statistical reports and analysis of student enrolment data for internal and external users.
- Supervise the annual external audit of student files required by the Ministère de l’enseignement supérieur.
- Update and maintain tables within the Student Information System as they relate to the government reporting portfolio and collaborate with the SPSO team, IITS and other departments to ensure integrity and accuracy of student data and resolve discrepancies.
- Act as a member of Government committees related to reporting of student enrolment. Maintain liaison with government agencies and external contacts.
- Research and prepare case files for the Ombuds Office relating to student complaints and recommend resolutions. Deals with matters related to the death of a student as it relates to the student record.
- Manage the budget for the unit.
- Perform other duties in support of the operation of the unit.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor’s degree and four to seven years related work experience.
- Knowledge of Government funding regulations and GDEU reporting standards.
- Good knowledge (Level 4) of spoken and written English and French in order to communicate effectively with students, staff, faculty, government and BCI representatives and to draft correspondence, documentation and reports.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and MS Access and basic knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deal assertively but politely with students.
- Ability to multi-task, set priorities and work under pressure.
- Ability to lead a team and foster a positive team environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of statistics, strong analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to work accurately with numbers.
- Strong planning, organizing, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Aptitude to work in a service-oriented environment as both a member of a team and independently.
- Detailed knowledge of the Concordia Full-time Equivalent (FTE) logic is an asset.
- Previous experience working in an academic setting is desirable.
- Knowledge of the Student Information System is an asset.
- Approachability (is sensitive and patient with others) and composure (is a calming influence in a difficult situation) are desirable qualities.
