**Retail Store Manager - Urban Tactical (Winnipeg)**

The Retail Store Manager - Urban Tactical (Winnipeg) is responsible for the management of all aspects of Urban Tactical. This includes overall operations, sales management, marketing, merchandising, product displays, employee recruitment, supervision, performance management and coaching, and scheduling to deliver a distinctive shopping experience to all customers including: Law enforcement, correctional, fire, paramedic and other government agencies and departments; Construction industry; and Retail customers. Through leadership and direction of the team of experienced sales associates, the Urban Tactical store will deliver exceptional customer service to achieve and exceed sales goals and profitability.

This role plays a critical role in the on-going success of Urban Tactical, therefore teamwork, communications, analysis, judgment, problem-solving, and professional and personal development are core competencies.

**Skills Required**:

- Extensive proven experience successfully managing a retail sales operation
- Exceptional sales management skills and customer service orientation to optimize sales to existing customer base and identify new sales opportunities
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated through regular and on-going contact with customers, suppliers and other internal and external parties to achieve and exceed sales targets
- Demonstrated supervisory skills in leading, managing, motivating and coaching a team to achieve sales and customer service excellence
- Exceptional, accuracy and attention to detail demonstrated through management of all operational, merchandising and staffing activities
- Strong analytical skills utilized in the on-going monitoring and analysis of sales results, operating expenses, and comparison to forecast
- Demonstrated proficiency in analysis, problem-solving and decision-making to identify and action mutually beneficial solutions
- Strong planning and time management skills to complete all assigned activities
- Ability to multi-task: Being attentive to customers while remaining flexible to the needs of the business
- Demonstrated commitment to work as an equal contributor to a team; Take initiative independent of direct supervision

**Detailed Description**:

- Achieves and exceeds sales and customer satisfaction goals within operational budget through active planning, oversight, performance management, coaching, counseling, and disciplining of employees
- Provides leadership to deliver increased customer satisfaction through service excellence
- Manages and maintains inventories to ensures availability of products and services
- Promptly actions and resolves all customer and employee issues, complaints and grievances
- Maintains optimal staff levels through timely recruiting, training, coaching and scheduling of employees (assisted by the Director of Operations)
- Reviews merchandising activities and proposes new approaches, strategies and plans
- Completes analysis of advertising, sales promotions, results and trending; Analyzing operating and financial statements for profitability ratios.
- In conjunction with the Director of Retail, develops new sales and promotional strategies and plans to expand the base of customers and increase share of wallet to achieve sales and profitability goals
- Continually drives operational improvements and efficiencies (in collaboration and with the support of the Director of Operations)
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
- Ensures the safety of employees and customers by complying with all applicable legal requirements, including all safety and health legislation and regulations

**Qualifications**
- Degree or diploma in Business Administration or related field
- Minimum five (5) years retail management experience
- Minimum two (2) years supervisory experience
- Market Knowledge considered an asset
- Obtain and maintain
- Maintain driver’s license in good standing (Manitoba Class 5)
- Criminal Record Check (City of Winnipeg Police - Level 2)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $45,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
