Therefore, we are currently looking to fill the position of Smart Meter Coordinator, Smart Meter Operations Centre to join us in supporting Nova Scotia Power’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) solution.

Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) is a secure communication network system that involves advanced communication technology and over 500,000 electricity meters. The meters used in AMI systems are commonly referred to as “smart meters” as they allow for remote two-way communication capability which enables a wide variety of operational efficiencies that translate into customer value.

The Smart Meter Operations Centre (SMOC) is a fast paced, demanding environment supporting AMI’s critical business functions including customer billing, service connection/disconnection, outage management, customer-facing energy portal, and customer and grid data analytics.

As the member of the Smart Meter Operations Centre Team, you will join a dynamic group of responsive professionals responsible for maintaining this infrastructure and bringing innovative solutions to Nova Scotia Power. This important role exists within the Customer & Grid Intelligence team of Nova Scotia Power.

Key elements of this role include:
As a **Smart Meter Coordinator**, you will be accountable for the timely execution of AMI driven business processes such as daily billing exception resolution and coordination of field work. The Smart Meter Coordinators continuously strive to ensure high availability and quality of data from the AMI smart meters. You will specifically have the following accountabilities:

- Resolve and troubleshoot issues** **related to AMI business processes such as daily billing exceptions.
- Maintain data integrity of transactional and master data across AMI software systems.
- Coordinate field service work associated with meters and mesh network devices.
- Enhance AMI functionality** **by managing the deployment of new meter firmware and configurations.****:

- Monitor and analyze reports to identify meter data and mesh network issues, opportunities, and trends.
- Support stakeholders such as Customer Care, Billing Operations, Audit Services to fulfill data requests and inquiries.
- Collaborate with team members** **to develop and operationalize new and innovative business processes.
- Support outage restoration processes using AMI data to improve reliability for customers.
- Seek opportunities to improve the customer experience and use customer-centric decision making to guide daily actions and activities.

Overall, the Smart Meter Coordinator works with minimum supervision to provide excellence in all aspects of the role. You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of your co-workers by observing all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.

When necessary, must be flexible and be available for after hour emergency service restoration.

These skills will make you successful:
A post-secondary or community college education related to Business Administration, Computer Science, or Engineering Technology (or related experience) is required for this position. Related experience supporting meter technologies, customer information systems, and work management systems is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and respond quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to handle multiple priorities at one time.
- Proven customer service skills.
- Effective communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
- Advanced Excel skills, including functions, pivot tables, and data analysis, enabling efficient data management and insightful decision-making.
- Ability to problem solve, make decisions and/or recommendations.
- SQL is considered an asset.
