**ITINERANT MENTAL HEALTH CLINICIAN**

The Upper Grand District School Board's(UGDSB) 4,000 plus dedicated teaching and support staff provide student success to over 35,000 students who attend our 65 elementary schools and 11 secondary schools in the City of Guelph, County of Wellington and County of Dufferin. The Upper Grand District School Board is situated on the treaty lands of the Mississauga’s of the Credit and Saugeen Ojibway Nation, and Six Nations of the Grand River within The Haldimand Tract

The Itinerant Mental Health Clinician works collaboratively with staff from the Student Support and Program Services Department and school staff to support students with complex mental health needs. This role involves direct clinical service as well as modelling and coaching for school based staff to support hard to serve students with complex mental health needs and increased safety concerns. The Itinerant Mental Health Clinician will provide clinical recommendations based in established best practices in mental health. This position is Itinerant, supporting students K-12 in our Board and supervised by the Supervisor of Social Work and Specialized Teams.

The Board invites qualified applicants for this **temporary **position to commence September 5, 2023 with an unknown end date.

**FTE/HOURS**:1.0 FTE; 35 hours per week; **temporary**

**LOCATION(S)**:Serving various school locations throughout the Board

**SALARY RANGE: Standard Grid - Social Workers**: $69,522 to $88,924 per annum (based on a full-time 35-hour per week position), plus applicable vacation pay, in accordance with the Employment Standards Act.

6.5% market adjustment to be applied. Salary range for this role is: $74,041 to $94,704 plus applicable vacation pay, in accordance with the Employment Standards Act.

**Standard Grid - Psychologists or Psychological Associates**: $69,522 to $88,924 per annum (based on a full-time 35-hour per week position), plus applicable vacation pay, in accordance with the Employment Standards Act.

14% market adjustment to be applied. Salary range for this role is: $79,255 to $101,373, plus applicable vacation pay, in accordance with the Employment Standards Act.

**Qualified Ph.D. Grid - Psychologists or Psychological Associates with a Doctoral degree**: $73,134 to $92,623 per annum (based on a full-time 35-hour per week position), plus applicable vacation pay, in accordance with the Employment Standards Act.

21% market adjustment to be applied. Salary range for this role is: $88,492 to $112,074, plus applicable vacation pay, in accordance with the Employment Standards Act.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support students and school staff by consulting on strategies and interventions being used at the school level
- Work in various school settings (short term 1 - 3 weeks) with school staff and Student Support and Program Services staff
- Work directly and clinically with students in the classroom setting and one on one as well as provide supports and consultations through virtual platforms
- Collect and/or review data in the classroom to inform/adjust treatment and plans

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Psychologists or Psychological Associates with a Doctoral degree or Master’s degree who are registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario

OR
- Social Workers with a Master’s degree in Social Work who are Registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers

**ASSETS**:

- Extensive knowledge, experience and understanding of children and youth with complex mental health needs
- Collaborative Proactive Solutions Training
- Valid BMS Certificate or CPI
- Registered Behaviour Therapist Qualifications (RBT)
- Proven ability to stay calm in challenging situations, build effective relationships, collaborate, be self motivated and assess student needs
- Able to thrive in constantly changing work environments
