**Position Overview**

Directly accountable to the Administrator of Sherwood Park Manor, the Maintenance Student will carry out a variety of tasks and duties to upkeep and repair the facility and its property. On a day-to-day basis the student may work under the guidance of the maintenance coordinator. This is a full-time, temporary position with a maximum work duration of sixteen (16) beginning from the first day of work.

**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**:

- Update the electrical panel boxes identifying what breakers work with what electrical outlets, lights equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, etc.as assigned.
- Perform other appropriate duties as assigned by the Administrator or Maintenance Coordinator.

**Skills and Knowledge**:

- Minimum grade 12 plus proof of formal post secondary education in progress.
- Demonstrated skill and ability in the job functions associated with the position.
- Ability to take direction, to work independently and to work as a member of a team.
- Must have a up to date police and vulnerable sector check.

**Working Conditions**:

- Ability to walk for long periods and to lift up to 20 kg.
- Ability to stoop, bend and reach above the shoulders.
- Must have an up to date 2 -step TB test.
