The Business Analyst FinOps is responsible for analyzing financial results, identifying trends and insights through data analysis and building dashboards using SQL to provide actionable insights to stakeholders across the organization.
**What you'll do:
This position supports and optimizes the financial operation within the organization leveraging the dashboards and data tools. The Business Analyst FinOps position plays a critical role in driving data-driven decision-making and provide suggestions on improvement.
**How you'll make an impact
- Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write complex queries for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
- Experience working within a technical or engineering organization/knowledge of the technology and SaaS industry an asset.
- Familiarity with dashboarding tools (e.g., Power BI, Apache Superset) is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and extract meaningful insights.
- High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
- Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
**What you'll bring to the role
- 3-5 years experience in technical analyst or Cloud FinOps role.
- 3-5 years in advanced SQL knowledge, including query building and query optimization.
- Experience working within a technical or engineering organization/knowledge of the technology and SaaS industry an asset.
- Hands-on experience with major cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with dashboarding tools (e.g., Power BI, Apache Superset) is an asset.
- Competence with software programs such as Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve well-judged decisions.
- Must stay relevant to technology and should have the flexibility to adapt to the growing technology and market demands.
- High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
