The Doorway is a community delivered opportunity for housing-insecure young adults. Our service-delivery method is informed by a philosophy that getting off the street is about changing more than where you sleep, it’s about changing the way you see yourself and the world around you. The Doorway community is passionate about listening, empathy, empowerment, and sustainability. Our two-year planning process MyPlan is facilitated using a participant-lead practice, strengths-based approach, and cross-cultural lens. Since 1988 we have been committed to meeting the needs addressed by young people including access to a safe space, legal income, and community connection.

The Fund Development & Administrative Assistant works in partnership with the Executive Director, Development Specialist, other team members and community volunteers to empower young people to take steps toward a sustainable future.

FUND DEVELOPMENT AND ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

Fund Development/Communications:

- Enter, track, update and maintain donor information in Sumac.
- Manage pledges, billings, processing and receipting of gifts.
- Provide monthly reporting on donor/fundraising information.
- Create reports and queries to support fundraising goals.
- Assist in production and distribution of brochures, mailings, reports, and annual donor gift summaries.
- Assist with execution of annual fundraising campaigns, major gifts, and event planning as needed.

Administration:

- Prepare monthly participant statistics reports
- Deposit funds into appropriate bank accounts.
- Contact technology vendors (IT consultant, copier, shredding, etc.) when problems arise
- Answer phones and take messages for executive director and development specialist.
- Perform other assigned administrative support duties as required to support the fund development goals of The Doorway.
- Assist with pay table (distributing incentives to participants) on an as needs basis.
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- Training and experience in public relations/fund development.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; ability to learn Sumac (donor management database).
- Strong data management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of fundraising practices and donor stewardship principles.
- Experience working in a non-profit and organization is an asset.

Work Schedule:
Monday through Thursday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (24 hours per week)

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
