**POSITION**: Mental Wellness Educator/Analyst

The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN) is seeking a highly motivated individual who will be responsible for providing technical and analytical information and research to the Life Promotions Secretariat; to provide written documentation for briefings, updates, and forward planning related to Mental Wellness and Life Promotion. Areas can include resource materials, legislation and policy.

**Typical Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Research and Analysis**
- Identify, research, and provide analysis, for consideration, on new and/or revisions to current legislation and policies that relate to the promotion, enhancement and implementation of the Treaty Rights or related department initiatives.
- Identify, research, and provide analysis on resource materials related to mental wellness and life promotions including gender identity, impacts of intergenerational trauma and traditional knowledge related to mental wellness.
- Research and compile archival documents.
- Provide research advice on proposals, participate in team projects where monitoring of research may be required.

**Communications**
- Prepare briefing notes, updates, media releases and other communications materials related to life promotions and mental wellness.
- Maintain effective liaison and communication with First Nations, FSIN working partners, and working groups/committees.

**Awareness**
- Develop and implement Mental Wellness Campaigns to raise awareness about mental health and wellness and reduce stigma associated with mental illness.

**Other**
- Other related duties may be assigned from time to time.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or a related field.

**Experience**
- Four (4) years related work experience.
- Computer skills - Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Zoom, Teams, and Internet.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Indigenous peoples, governance, culture, history, community dynamics and protocols.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of historical and current legislation related to Indigenous people as well as an understanding of the impacts of this on Indigenous peoples in all five (5) Treaty boundary areas of Saskatchewan and Canada.
- Experience leading and developing Indigenous and Public Participation and Engagement sessions.
- Strong analytical ability and written skills; with the ability to synthesize information and provide strategic advice and recommendations to the FSIN and First Nations communities.
- Knowledge in Indigenous research and analytical process design and implementation including consultation and engagement meetings, workshops, conferences, data collection and analysis techniques.
- Effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Demonstrated basic understanding of Saskatchewan Indigenous Environment with respect to overall policy delivery to Indigenous peoples and communities.
- A combination of education and experience will be considered.
