**The Opportunity - Receptionist (Hospice)**

The Receptionist greets visitors (clients/volunteers/donors) and responds to their requests/needs as appropriate. The Receptionist also completes administrative tasks in support of services to clients and other organizational departments.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- Serves visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately.
- Notifies staff of visitor arrival.
- Informs visitors by answering and referring inquiries.
- Directs visitors by maintaining employee and department directories.
- Operates telecommunication system by following manufacturer’s instructions for phone and console operation.
- Keeps a safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Accepts deliveries and sorts the mail
- Take inventory of supplies and restock as necessary
- Schedules appointments for clinics and completes reminder calls to clients/caregivers
- Supplies the nurse with the client’s chart
- Update client data in the client information management system
- Update Nurse availability for scheduling purposes
- Processes payments or donations upon receipt
- Organizes supplies, equipment, and resources (i.e. PPE)
- Participates on committees/project work group as assigned
- Performs other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- High School diploma
- College diploma in business administration an asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher) and client data base systems (CIMS)
- Experience in customer service
- Physical ability to perform duties such as standing for long periods, squatting, bending, and lifting
- Ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with clients, caregivers, staff, health care professionals, service agencies both verbally and in writing
- Bilingualism (English/French) an asset
- Valid Class G drivers’ license and use of own vehicle
- Acceptable Vulnerable Sector Background Check
