**The Role**
We have an opening for Maintenance workers to join our Ready Mix Maintenance Crew. The crew is responsible to make all repairs on plant equipment including; ready mix plants, conveyors and low pressure boilers.
**Responsibilities**
- analyze sources of trouble (or failures), devise a method of repair & proceed w/repair work;
- install, assemble, and adjust a variety of bearings, bushings, shafts, gears, and pins;
- inspect, lubricate and adjust machinery as needed
- replace/repair defective parts using hand tools, power tools, cutting torches, & welding equip
- rebuild or fabricate parts;
- operate power/hand tools & electric or gas welding equipment to complete tasks;
- grind and sharpen tools such as drills, cutters, etc., to keep them in good repair;
- observe all safety, health and environmental rules and practices such as wearing proper PPE, maintain tools and work area (i.e., housekeeping is neat)
- perform other duties as required
**Qualifications**
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Five years’ experience demonstrating thorough knowledge and troubleshooting abilities for operating and maintaining plant equipment
- Knowledge of electrical systems is an asset
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and boiler systems
- able to perform welding tasks: use gas or electrical welding equipment to weld, braze, and cut; weld a firm hold between two pieces of metal in a flat or vertical position; select rods and determine the weld size for either ferrous or non-ferrous material.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Basic carpentry, electrical, mechanical, welding, plumbing, plastic or sheet metal fabrication, or
- Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights. Must be able to lift heavy objects.
**Working conditions**
Must be able to work in a heavy industrial environment, exposed to weather elements, noise; must have the ability to work independently and problem-solve while working alone or as a part of a team.
**Physical requirements**
This work requires routine walking, standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing and carrying items. Able to work at heights. Able to lift and carry 50-pound loads safely.
