**Position Overview**:
The Employment Coach will report to the Manager of Employment and Training Services and together they will establish performance expectations on an annual basis. The Employment Coach is responsible for delivering many key components of the Inclusion of Women in the Workplace program including, facilitating focus groups with clients to understand their experience in the workforce, focus groups with employers, facilitating workshops on a variety of life skills and job search topics as identified to support their journey towards employment and providing guidance and support to clients as they work with a mentor to further their understanding of business and the workforce. This position is a **contract **position, working directly for the Inclusion of Women in the Workplace program.

**Responsibilities**:
**Program Facilitation**:

- Facilitate focus groups with clients to gain an understanding of needs related to employment and barriers to employment
- Facilitate focus groups to with employers to understand their policies and procedures regarding hiring practices and supporting women in the workplace
- Planning and delivering individual and group workshops, on employability skills, local labour market information, apprenticeships, job search and interview skills
- Delivering effective employment supports to clients in person
- Assessing participants employability readiness and identifying employment skills and supports required to be competitively employed
- Referring clients to appropriate programs or other community services if suitable

**Individual Client Support**:

- Supporting participants in conducting job search based on realistic and accurate assessment of qualifications and employer expectations through research of information provided within posting.
- Assisting participants to develop resumes and cover letters ensuring they are effective and appropriate representations of the participants’ skills and qualifications
- Coaching, supporting, and monitoring participants in the initial stages of employment while maintaining relationships with employers
- Developing and maintaining accurate and detailed, reports, cases notes and documentation related participants’ progress
- Managing individual and team administrative duties: scheduling appointments for participants, completing necessary paperwork, maintaining participant and filing system
- Attending meetings as required

**Qualifications**:

- A post-secondary education in Career and Work Counseling, Adult Education or a related field and/or directly related work experience
- Experience working with adults who may have low literacy, low educational attainment, learning challenges, disabilities and other, complex barriers to employment would be an asset
- Strong knowledge of labour market trends, employment counselling / facilitation and presentation techniques to facilitate adult learning
- A strong desire to work with people who face multiple barriers to employment
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent skills using Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of the current labour market and the challenges experienced by clients who face barriers

**Where we work**

This role is based in Downtown Toronto and requires working in-office 5 days a week, 40 hours weekly.

**Salary**

Commensurate with experience.
