**JOB SUMMARY**:
The role of the Relationship Coordinator is to assist the Relationship Team with coordination, administrative and logístical tasks to build and maintain relationships, draft and review associated agreements and review communications with external entities and other Indigenous Nations.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:

- Ensures the vision laid out in the Tsleil-Waututh Nation Declaration, Comprehensive Community Plan, Strategic Plan, Stewardship Policy, economic development strategy and overall Tsleil-Waututh philosophy is met.
- As part of the Relationship Team, support building relationships with crown governments, private sector, non-governmental organizations, academic institutions, proponents and other Indigenous Nations.
- Assist with scheduling meetings and coordinating events that are part of building and maintaining relationships with external entities.
- Provide support with incoming and outgoing communications, file organization, drafting agendas, and meeting notes.
- Assist with the Relationships program’s financial tasks, e.g. create invoices and cheque requisitions.
- Participate and document the proceedings of agreement negotiations.
- Assist with the logístical aspects of internal and external events E.g. facility and equipment rental, coordination of caterers and transportation, obtaining cultural supplies.
- Provide input into departmental communications and outreach, which may include the development of presentations, reports, letters, media releases, and council information packages.
- Provides input into the development of funding proposals, reports and other deliverables.
- Support the preparation of updates and the analysis of results to a wide variety of groups, such as leadership, colleagues, community members, and proponents.
- Potentially participate on boards with Indigenous Nations and other governments, private sector, and non-governmental organizations.
- Ensure communications with all TWN departments and/or other Tsleil-Waututh governmental bodies are consistent and follow appropriate protocols.
- Assist the Relationship Manager in seeking and pursuing new funding opportunities for the program.
- Other duties as assigned by the Relationship Manager.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Given TWN’s goal to grow capacity within the Nation, preference given to a Tsleil-Waututh Nation member.
- Some post-secondary or combination of education and experience in a related field to Communications, Social Sciences, Indigenous Studies etc. with a minimum of 1-year professional work experience, preferably in an administrative or coordination role.
- Education and/or experience in business communications; ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels of business organizations.
- An understanding of Aboriginal rights and title.
- Experience with financial management is an asset.
- Experience with negotiation and conflict resolution is an asset.
- Experience with Indigenous Nations negotiations processes, and ability to work in a dynamic cross-cultural setting is an asset.
- A class 5 driver’s license is an asset.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills; self-motivated; attention to detail; able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working with highly sensitive legal and political matters
- Demonstrate flexibility and cooperation to address a rapid shift in priorities.
- Demonstrate patience, cultural safety, and a willingness to share and learn.

- Provide detailed and comprehensive strategic advice with little notice.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.

**Environmental Conditions**
- Must attend most meetings in-person.
- Ability to work in a shared office space.
- Occasional meetings outside normal office hours.
- Required travel throughout the Lower Mainland and abroad to attend meetings/workshops.
