**Position Summary**:
As an Associate Scientist I (AS I) at CCRM, you will be part of a diverse process and analytical development team focused on defining and executing process / analytical optimization and technology development projects within the cell and gene therapy and regenerative medicine fields. You will provide technical expertise and will work within the team to define and execute project tasks. You will support bringing new and innovative products to market to enable life-saving advances in cell and gene therapy and regenerative medicine.

**Responsibilities**:

- Project task execution for process and analytical optimization and technology development programs in cell and gene therapy and regenerative medicine. This includes experiment planning and execution, data analysis, documentation and reporting.
- Execute on project milestones as part of a diverse and multi-disciplinary team.
- Provide technical expertise within the project team.
- Engage external customers and partners to understand and overcome workflow challenges.
- Drive effective communication across the organization and leadership team.
- Assist in the evaluation of new and existing technologies to improve workflows.
- Demonstrate continuous integrity, credibility and positivity, and motivate others to do the same.
- Continuously grow and adapt in a fast-moving field to keep yourself and the organization at the forefront of the cell and gene therapy and regenerative medicine fields.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in bioengineering, chemical engineering, bioprocess, biotechnology, cell biology, or a related field; M.Sc preferred.
- 2+ years experience with mammalian cell culture and/or process engineering.
- Practical knowledge of cell biology and/or bioprocess techniques.
- Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory safety plans and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable federal, provincial and local regulations.
- Experience in following and composing standard operating procedures.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and process development skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal English communications skills.

**Desired Characteristics**:

- Practical experience in cell and gene therapy or regenerative medicine.
- Industry experience in cell and gene therapy or regenerative medicine.
- Hands-on experience working with human primary and/or stem cell cultures.
- Experience with bioreactors and/or other equipment relevant to cell and gene therapy.
- Experience with cell and molecular analytic techniques, such as flow cytometry and q-PCR.
- Experience in statistical design and analysis.
- Independent, detail-oriented, self-starter with excellent analytical skills and the ability to multitask and succeed in a team environment.
- Demonstrated initiative and the ability to deliver high quality outcomes.
