The Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario Provincial Police, and the Communications & Technical Services Bureau are seeking a qualified individual to join our Unit. In this exciting, rewarding and challenging opportunity, you will provide technical support, analysis, expertise, advice and recommendations which utilize complex technology for improvements to the Ontario Provincial Police, Municipal Police Services, Ministry and front line operational processes and systems in a 7/24 environment.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is one of North America's largest deployed police services with more than 5,800 uniformed officers, 2,400 civilian employees and 830 Auxiliary officers. We provide essential services that ensure the safety and security of the people of the Province of Ontario. The OPP is a division of the Ministry of the Solicitor General, the largest operational ministry in the province with a presence in every community across Ontario. We are the largest police service in Ontario and the second largest in Canada.

The Communications and Technology Services Bureau (CTSB) is comprised of more than 1,000 dedicated uniform and civilian professionals who possess a wide variety of backgrounds, expertise, and technical skills. The challenge of meeting the needs of a provincial police service with over 9,000 uniform and civilian members in a province as vast as Ontario is significant. **How do I qualify?**:
**Mandatory**:

- Ability to pass an OPP background/ security investigation.
- Valid Ontario Driver's License.
- Ability to achieve Ministry technical accreditation standards.
- Ability to work on a regularly scheduled on-call basis.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Knowledge of Active Directory (AD) and related tools, Domain Name Servers (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), scripting languages such as Powershell and other command line tools, remote device administration, MS SQL database server maintenance.
- Interpersonal skills to work both in a team environment and/or with mínimal supervision.
- Effective time and project management skills to work effectively under pressure and organize work.
- Ability to:

- Make decisions by determining backup procedures and disaster recovery plans;
- Make decisions when working independently;
- Recommend ways to improve network capacity and performance; and,
- Make recommendations on feasibility of requests for new features and additional network services.

Interest and ability to quickly learn new technologies and adaptability to meet emerging organizational requirements.
