The Opportunity
Under the general direction of the Lead Operator, this position is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of the Wolf Feedstock Separation Facility (WFS) and associated pipelines. WFS is an natural gas liquids (NGL) separation facility that receives an NGL mix and separates it into spec quality ethane, propane, butane, and condensate. This position must see safety as a priority while focusing on operating efficiencies, budgets, worker competency, governmental and industry regulation compliance while contributing to a diverse work team.
The position is located at our Wolf Feedstock Separation (WFS) Facility in Strathcona County, AB. The individual will be required to live within 100km of the facility while on shift. The shift is 7 days on / 7 days off with the possibility of night shift coverage if required. The position is overtime eligible. Transportation to site will be the responsibility of the individual operator.
**WORK TERM**: 4 Months - May - August 2025
Key Responsibilities
- Perform plant rounds and readings to ensure equipment is operating within process parameters
- Identify location and operation of all plant equipment and respond quickly to process upsets while maintaining operations best practices, safety of facility, and to minimize plant downtime
- Assist the operations team to Isolate and prepare equipment for maintenance, performing lock-out and tag out and ensuring zero energy isolation is achieved; and properly identify, report and communicate plant equipment and safety deviations through Work Orders, Hazard ID’s and Operations Log
- Complete assigned tasks; Work Orders, Safety Checklists, Job Hazard Assessments,
- Participate in procedure review, safety bypass, lock-out and tag-out as outlined in the operations training program
- Learn the operations of all HMI systems efficiently. Troubleshoot and communicate process deviations and upsets to the Lead Operator
- Assist and participate in EHS meetings, inspections and all other EHS requirements
- Report any health, safety, security, or environmental concerns through HSE management system incident reporting
- Responsible for good housekeeping practices throughout the site through weekly / monthly housekeeping duties
- Provide vacation coverage for other Outside Operators within the facility if requested and deemed competent with the possibility of covering night shift
Qualifications and Experience
**Education**:
- 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate or Chemical Engineering Technology - required
- Mechanical Engineering Technology, Gas Plant Operations Certificates, Power Engineering 3rd Class and/or similar technical education - considered an asset
- Recent graduates are not eligible for this opportunity. You must be enrolled / returning to school after finishing the Summer Student placement

**Experience**:
- Health, Safety and Environmental safety training and experience
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License and satisfactory driver’s abstract
