**What you’ll do**
- Reviews payroll remittance reports and advises Accounts Payable of the timing and amounts owing to various agencies such as Union Associations, Charitable Organizations, Health Care Benefit Trust, Pacific Blue Cross, MSP, general deductions, and the Foundations.
- Reviews payroll remittance reports and calculates amounts owing by specific account to create payment through Accounts Payable to various agencies such as Canada Customs and Revenue Agency, Union, Small Claims Court (Garnishees) and Canada Savings Bonds.
- Assists with benefit administrations by completing documentation and reconciling benefit deductions against benefit statements for accuracy and providing vendors, HR-Records and Benefits and /or general ledger adjustments.
- Maintains records of qualified employees who are self-paying their benefits, updates the Self paid spreadsheet every month for enrolment and cancellation. Performs electronic data transfer of recovery of funds directly with the bank. Monitors and negotiates payment of funds to cover benefit arrears for outstanding accounts.
- Prepares and analyzes invoices and bills Healthcare Benefit Trust for the 50% MSP premiums paid by the employer for employees on Long-term Disability.
- Maintains records of casual employees who are entitled to casual rebates per collective agreement.
- Keys employer paid benefit adjustments in payroll system on a periodic basis.
- Prepares and analyzes invoices and spreadsheets to bill Union Associations for Union recoverable leaves. Calculates and applies the applicable benefit rates for the various unions and amount of leaves.
- Attends and participates in departmental meetings to provide input into items such as changes to policies, procedures and processes.
- Maintains security of payroll records by destroying payroll files as authorized by the Payroll Manager.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

**What you bring**

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12, successful completion of a recognized payroll course and three years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

- Ability to operate related equipment.
