- Vision and grow the Non-Protection Family Services program, ensuring high quality services to urban Indigenous children, youth, young adults, and families.
- Work collaboratively with community partners, Indigenous Nations, and stakeholders.
- Participate as a member of the agency’s Leadership team.

- **Team Leader, Non-Protection Family Services**_

**Position Summary**

Reporting to the Practice Manager, the Family Services Team Leader oversees a team of delegated non
- protection Family Service Workers. The Team Leader provides mentorship, clinical supervision and case consultation, tracks key priorities, manages program budgets, responds to human resource issues, and completes regular performance evaluations. This position ensures the health, safety and well-being of urban Indigenous children, youth and families is of paramount consideration while ensuring Indigenous systems of caring for children are upheld.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Clinical Supervision_
- Grounds the clinical supervision approach in Indigenous worldview and ways of being to ensure culturally safe and appropriate service to urban Indigenous children, youth and families.
- Provides leadership and direction while creating a well-motivated team capable of providing and developing high standards of performance.
- Offers clinical supervision on a consistent and regular basis and ensures availability to the team at key consultation points. Creates availability to the team for debriefing and consultation.
- Provides general day-to-day supervision and oversees the daily activities and operations of the non-protection Family Services Team.
- Ensures regulated case supervision and planning is maintained for all cases; assigns and reviews caseloads.
- Provides guidance to staff on the interpretation of Acts, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
- Takes direct responsibility for ensuring that case management practices are current and meet required standards.
- Human Resource Responsibilities_
- Ensures the operational requirements of the agency are given utmost importance while managing team schedules.
- Supervises staff including the assignment of work, develops and evaluates performance plans, approves leave, responds to grievances, conducts Workplace Incident Inquiries, and initiates discipline processes when and as required.
- Establishes and communicates performance expectations to team members and conducts probationary and annual performance evaluations.
- Determines and identifies staffing resources, succession planning and training needs; Participates in the development and deployment of employee retention strategies.
- Assists with the recruitment of new employees utilizing the agency’s recruitment and onboarding processes, making hiring recommendations to the Executive Director.
- Orients and trains new employees; motivates and manages team and individual employee performance.
- Manages processes for responding to complaints from community and/or clients and ensures clients receive adequate information, support, and services.
